Opening and closing to new patients
Primary care providers may open or close their practices to new Priority Health members of any or all of our plans as their patient loads increase or decrease.
To notify us of changes:
- Log into your prism account
- Click Enrollments & Changes
- Click Change Individual Provider or Organization and follow the steps to submit your change
Closing
We require 60 days advance notice of closing to new patients.
Opening
Opening a closed practice to new patients can be effective immediately when we receive your written request.
When your patient switches to a Priority Health plan
When a patient of your practice covered by a different insurance company switches to Priority Health, he or she is considered to be an "established patient." Even if your practice is closed to new patients, he or she can designate you as PCP.
