Reminder: Measles vaccine and testing coverage
With the ongoing measles outbreak in Michigan, we’re sharing a reminder about our coverage.
The measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine is covered at no cost for most members when they get the vaccine at an in-network provider.
CPT codes for the vaccines covered at no cost are:
- 90707 measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) for ages 6 months and older
- 90710 measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) for ages 1 to 12 years
Measles titer lab testing is a covered benefit subject to lab cost sharing. This is a test used to see if a person is immune or infected with the virus.
If a member is uncertain of their MMR status, they can find their vaccination records on the Michigan Care Improvement website or on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. If a member does not have written documentation of the MMR vaccine, they should get vaccinated. There is no harm in getting another dose if they may already be immune to measles, mumps, or rubella.
