Increased Star Ratings, more opportunity to deliver high-quality care
We’re pleased to announce that our HMO-POS and PPO plans each gained a half star on their Medicare Star Ratings this year, earning 4.5 and 4 Stars respectively. Our D-SNP contract earned its first ever Star Rating of 3.5 Stars. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its 2022 ratings on October 7.
Your hard work over the past year contributed to this gain, which will allow us to continue improving the quality of care and service we provide – and drive growth through increased enrollments.
What’s the Medicare 5-Star program?
CMS uses its Medicare 5-Star Rating program to shine a light on health plan quality and performance. The program evaluates how well a plan performs across health outcomes, plan operations and member satisfaction.
Each fall, Medicare contracts can earn an overall Star Rating between one and five stars, as determined by CMS.
Why do Star Ratings matter?
CMS awards quality bonus payments to highly rated Medicare plans. As a nonprofit health plan, we’ll use these payments to:
-
Add more supplemental benefits to our plans
-
Further reduce cost sharing for our members
Thank you for our continued partnership as we work together to keep our members healthy.
