New COVID-19 vaccine CPT code for 5-11-year-olds

Booster (third) doses of the Pfizer vaccine administered to 5–11-year-olds should be billed with CPT code 0073A.

The American Medical Association released this new code effective Jan. 3, 2022, the date this age group was approved for the booster dose, to streamline immunization reporting. Continue to use CPT code 0004A to bill adult booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
